Blob New Tab is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with an animated background, a clock, a date, a personalized greeting, and your top sites. This policy explains what data the extension uses and, just as importantly, what it does not do with it.
Blob New Tab does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data with us or with any third party. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no remote servers, and no network requests made by this extension at any point.
topSites API
is used to show your most-visited websites as tiles on the new tab
page. This data is read locally on your device and rendered directly
in the page. It is never transmitted anywhere.
favicon permission lets
the extension show each site's icon next to its tile. Icons are
retrieved locally through Chrome's internal favicon service, not from
any third-party favicon provider.
Your preferences — selected color palette, date format, time format, and
the name you optionally enter for the greeting — are stored using your
browser's local storage (localStorage), directly on your
device. This information never leaves your browser and is not
accessible to us or anyone else.
Blob New Tab does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
If this policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted at this same page with an updated "Last updated" date.
Questions about this policy or the extension can be directed via the support contact listed on the Chrome Web Store listing page.
